上周,美科技巨头2022年第四季度财报悉数放榜,业绩普遍出现大幅下滑,超出市场预期。
脸书母公司Meta2022年第四季度净利润46.5亿美元,同比降幅55%。谷歌母公司Alphabet2022年第四季度净利润约为136亿美元,同比大降34%。亚马逊公司2022年全年净利润为负27亿美元,为历史最差成绩。
美科技巨头为何集体遭遇“寒冬”?业内人士分析,主要是由于消费者收入减少,购买力下降。由于美元走强,通货膨胀持续、利率进一步调高,经济衰退风险加剧,宏观经济不确定性给消费者和企业造成压力,致使长期需求疲软,企业业绩纷纷出现下滑。
面对困境,不少企业公布了历史上最大规模的裁员计划,并通过转型谋求新的发展,但效果并不理想。分析人士指出,美国高科技行业整体发展遇阻的趋势在2023年还将持续,重回快速增长仍然道阻且长。

Amazon plans to close some Fresh supermarkets and Go convenience stores as it looks to curtail expenses.
亚马逊首席财务官布莱恩.奥尔萨夫斯基在公司第四季度财报电话会议上表示:“我们正在不断完善我们的商店模式,以找到能够引起顾客共鸣的模式,建立我们的食杂品牌,并让公司随着时间的推移有意义地扩大规模。”
“We’re continuously refining our store formats to find the ones that will resonate with customers,will build our grocery brand,and will allow us to scale meaningfully over time,”Brian Olsavsky,Amazon’s finance chief,said on the company’s fourth-quarter earnings call.
奥尔萨夫斯基表示,作为对其食杂产品组合进行定期评估的一部分,公司“决定关闭某些增长潜力较低的门店”,公司因此在去年四季度计提了7.2亿美元的减值支出。
Olsavsky said that as part of a periodic assessment of its grocery portfolio,the company“decided to exit certain stores with low-growth potential.”He said the company took a$720million impairment charge in the fourth quarter as a result.

Amazon will also temporarily halt expansion of its line of Fresh grocery stores until it can find a format that differentiates the company’s offering from others in the industry.

Reports Show that More Shoppers Turn to Dollar Stores for Groceries

美国劳工部报告称,尽管最新数据显示消费者价格指数(CPI)开始回落,但美国食品价格再次上涨。
Although the consumer price index started to ease as of the latest reading,food prices were up yet again,the U.S.Department of Labor reported.
美国劳工部截至2022年12月的数据显示,过去一年,食品价格总体上涨10%以上,仅鸡蛋价格就飙升了60%,黄油上涨31%以上,生菜上涨25%。
Over the past year,food prices overall have risen more than10%.Egg prices,alone,soared60%,butter is up more than31%and lettuce jumped25%,according to Labor Department data through December.
市场研究公司Coresight Research最近的一份报告显示,1美元折扣店在食品杂货总支出中所占的份额一直在缓慢但稳步上升。
Slowly but surely,discount dollar stores’share of total grocery spending has been creeping up,according to a recent report from Coresight Research.
据Coresight每周美国消费者追踪报告,已有超过五分之一的消费者在一元店购买食杂商品。
Already,more than1in5consumers buy groceries at dollar stores,according to Coresight’s weekly U.S.Consumer Tracker.
发表在《美国公共卫生杂志》上的另一项研究也发现,1元店是增长最快的食品零售商,原因之一是它们急速扩张,尤其是在农村地区。
A separate study published in the American Journal of Public Health also found that dollar stores were the fastest-growing food retailers,in part because they are expanding at an unmatched pace,especially in rural areas.
